My Journey Into Becoming A Coach Started When...

Before I became a nutrition and fitness coach I was the Founder & CEO of a fresh fruit and vegetable and meal kit home delivery company which focused on improving access and understanding of healthy food and how to prepare it for optimal health. In 2023 I had to close my business after seven years and I struggled to figure out what to do next in my career. Food, fitness and helping others learn how to adopt healthy habits are my passions in life, but I was unsure what the next step in this journey should look like. At this time, I really put a lot of deep thought into my own struggles and how I could use what I've learned to help others.

Throughout my life I have always worked hard to build a strong, healthy body. Admittedly, at times I struggled to keep a healthy mindset, becoming a little too obsessed with the number on the scale and taking "healthy" too far, starving myself to achieve that number.

But One Day, Something Transformative Happened….

In my mid-thirties I started running a little and then a lot. 5k races turned into 10k races, then half marathons and marathons. I also began weightlifting. In this journey, I realized quickly that I was not eating enough food to properly fuel my body to accomplish the goals I set for myself. I lacked energy and was sluggish and burned out. It was at this time that I stopped looking at food as calories, but instead as energy. As a result, I was able to run faster and longer and I finally started seeing muscle gains. And guess what? I even lost stubborn fat and found myself in the best shape of my life.

Fast forward about a decade and I discovered my daughter exhibiting troublesome eating habits that reminded me of some of my former patterns. She was soon diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa. While managing family based treatment, I gained invaluable experience helping her redevelop healthy eating patterns and a healthy mindset. I learned an immense amount from her doctors and read every book I could find about eating disorders.

From This Moment On, My Life Changed Forever

Suddenly, my next journey became so very clear. It is through all of these experiences, both personal and professional, that I was driven to complete formal training to become a Certified Nutrition Coach and Personal Trainer and develop my own program to help others reach their health and wellness goals with a focus on sustainable habits and a healthy mindset. It is the perfect culmination of all of my passions and past struggles, my knowledge and experience, to use it all for the good of others.

Here’s Why Every Woman Over 40 Should Be Lifting Weights.

  •  Increased Bone Density: Crucial for preventing osteoporosis and strengthening bones, especially after menopause when estrogen levels drop.
  • Boosted Metabolism & Weight Control: Building muscle increases metabolic rate, helping to burn more calories at rest and manage weight.
  • Enhanced Cardiovascular Health: Studies show women who lift weights are 30% less likely to die from heart disease.
  • Better Blood Sugar Control: Muscles consume glucose, making strength training effective for managing blood sugar and preventing diabetes.
  • Improved Mental Wellness: Strength training can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
  • Functional Strength & Aging: Improves balance, reduces the risk of falls and injuries and increases daily functional mobility.
  • Reduced Pain & Injury: Strengthens ligaments, tendons, and joins, which can reduce chronic pain such as back or knee pain.
